The first year (2014) the driver chosen as the Future Star was Teemu Suninen. A talent indulging in rallying since the age of six, he had reaped success also in karting and rallycross. Suninen certainly exploited his prize drive in Neste Rally Finland, taking an impressive win in the WRC3 class after an eventful drive.
He has continued to impress since that memorable outing: in March 2015 he signed a contract with Toyota Motorsport and moved on to compete in the FIA World Rally Championship Series in WRC3 and WRC 2 classes. Suninen finished off his 2015 season in style by securing his maiden WRC2 class victory and full championship points in his four-wheel-drive Skoda in Wales Rally GB.
Year 2016 was a silvery season for Suninen, and the second place in WRC 2 class was awarded with a contract with M-Sport. This year the talanted driver is chasing the WRC2 Championship title and also showing his skills behind the wheel of Ford Fiesta WRC in Neste Rally Finland.
