Emerging talent Jari Huttunen was chosen as the Future Rally Star of Finland on June 2015. The 21-year-old received a prize drive in a Citroën DS3 R3T in Neste Rally Finland.
Huttunen comes from the town of Kiuruvesi, north of the event host city Jyväskylä. He originally started his career in karting, before moving into rallying.
“My goal is to become a professional rally driver one day and this is a very exciting step towards that goal", Huttunen said after the winning.
Huttunen suffered badly from food poisoning symptoms in Neste Rally Finland, but eventually he managed to claim eighth place in WRC3. His good results in the Finnish Rally Championship in the autumn secured him the championship in R2 class and paved his way to a contract to compete in Opel Adam Cup in Germany in 2016. The young rally talent took the series by a storm and ended his season as a champion.
